Could you give us a brief introduction to your business and your role?
“I’m the owner of The FAIR Shop, where we sell ethically made clothing, accessories, jewellery, and homewares. Our products are made by Fair Trade producers, refugees, and pioneering sustainable brands from the UK and beyond. Fair Trade supports vulnerable artisans globally while preserving beautiful, traditional crafts. Sustainability is one of the core principles of Fair Trade, and we complement our offerings with brands that prioritise both planet and people. This commitment drives everything we do.”
How did your partnership with Harriet’s of Hove begin?
“As a longtime customer, I’ve always admired Harriet’s for its plastic-free, ethical offerings that align perfectly with FAIR’s values. The opportunity to collaborate with them felt like a natural extension of our commitment to sustainability.”
What motivated your business to start using Harriet’s of Hove’s products and services?
“I had wanted to try their B2B service for some time. We have been so busy recently supporting our CIC, Smarter Uniforms, which has now been handed over to some great team members. “We’re lucky to be part of a supportive, eco-friendly community in Hannington’s Lane, and we’re excited to promote Harriet’s partnership with other sustainable businesses. Harriet’s will be our first stop whenever new needs arise.”
What is one piece of advice you would give to other businesses looking to make their operations more sustainable?
“My advice for businesses looking to go green: opt for products in bulk sizes! Harriet’s 5L containers reduce replenishment time, and the delivery service makes our lives so much easier. It’s been a big help for our small busy team.”
Could you share a standout experience or story involving Harriet’s of Hove?
“I need to go back to my own shopping at Harriet’s for this, which was a pre-measured dahl meal prepared by Harriet’s—it was delicious, and so easy to make! It was also the best dahl I have tasted. Harriet’s is so great at paying attention to every detail. That is why we love shopping there!”
